At this point during the winter, you may find your skin looks a bit dull and feels less than smooth. Or maybe you have noticed your skin is flaking?
When your skin looks or feels like this, it suggests a build-up of dead skin cells. Basically, your regular skin cleansing isn't doing enough to slough your face in its normal exfoliation process. This can be caused by many factors: excess oil, pollution, hormones, make-up and / or diet. But don’t despair; you can help your skin with at-home exfoliation.
Welcome to the new year
How habits help our lives
Don't be so sensitive
Skincare at its core is designed to improve and protect our skin and a bespoke routine can achieve this with a variety of products. We all want skincare that can soothe and enhance our skin without irritation. However, there may be times when products have a less than desired effect and specialty items are needed to calm an adverse reaction. Here are the ones I use to restore my skin to its regular behaviour.
Cold weather care for your body
British Summer Time is officially over and the outside temperature definitely seems to have gotten the memo. Sure, there are still pockets of warmth in the sunshine, but early mornings and dark evenings have more chill in the air.
During this confusing fashion time (Is it time for boots? Are gloves overkill?), I’m transitioning my body care to keep it hydrated during the colder months when there’s less humidity in the air, even if my skincare hasn't quite required facial oil yet.
Spotlight on: CoQ10
I was looking for a new body lotion recently and saw one featuring CoQ10. And while it seemed to be a big deal on the packaging, I honestly wasn’t completely familiar with the benefits of this ingredient and so thought my research might be worth sharing with you.
What is your skin saying?
Have you ever found yourself looking in the mirror wondering about a change in your skin? What’s going on? Why is that there? I’m not talking about the appearance of a fine line, but rather when skin seems to be dry suddenly? Or breaking out? Or flushed? While there are many reasons why our skin changes, here are a few of the top causes to keep in mind when you’re trying to problem solve.
Nothing feels as good as gold
Preparing for a big day or special evening out and feeling like your face could use a bit of a refresh, but don’t have time for a facial? Consider using a vibrating gold bar at home to help you get ready.
The end of the holiday
The art of napping
Although it wasn’t always true, I love a nap. On days when I’m not working, I often take a quick nap after lunch. And it’s definitely something I like to enjoy while on holiday. As an early riser, I find a nap gives a recharge mid-day that helps me accomplish whatever my afternoon and evening holds.
