Hydrate your skin while you sleep

In the winter months, we often find out skin can become dehydrated easily thanks to chilly temperatures and dry air.  While a winter skincare routine is essential, sometimes we need an additional boost.  For this challenge, I like to apply a sleeping mask (or sleep pack as it’s called in Korean skincare).

I’m not talking about an eye mask, although I do love this one because it doesn’t lie flat on the eyes.  Instead, I mean a mask you apply to your face at the end of your evening skincare routine and then luxuriate in overnight allowing it to deliver a load of hydration while you sleep.  The result?  The morning greets you with baby smooth skin.

Sleep masks can be used a couple times a week to restore plumpness to your skin, erasing its raisin-like appearance.  It can be applied instead of or on top of night cream.  Try it both ways to determine which works best for your skin.

Worried it’s going to be all over your pillowcase?  Don’t.  Sleep masks absorb into the skin like moisturiser.  Simply massage into your skin on application and then head off to dreamland.

Sleep packs are also great to use as prevention if you’ve stayed out too late and don’t want your skin to give you away in the morning.  They’re the perfect travelling companion in-flight, if you don’t have the guts to apply a sheet mask.  And whether you are on a skiing holiday or taking a break at the beach, they can provide soothing relief to chapped skin.
